A Cuba Expert’s Update: How Increased Tourism Is Affecting Cuba

When I interviewed Cuba travel expert, Christopher P. Baker, for Cuba, Libre? last July, he pointed out that Cuba needed to add more hotels, particularly outside of Havana, in order to meet the lodging needs of the expected influx of American visitors.

In today’s interview with with Rachelle Akurro of CCTV’s “Global Business” report, Baker underscores that point and talks about how the increase in tourism is affecting that island nation.

(Christopher P. Baker is a professional photographer and travel writer, guide book author, and tour guide. He has visited Cuba well over one-hundred times since 1992.)
