Yesterday Cuba, Libre? became a film festival or award competition Official Selection for the 34th time.

Today that number jumped to 35 times when it was picked by the Hollywood Forever Film Festival.

The documentary also received a Platinum Award for second place in festival’s “Best Documentary Short” category.

The Canada Independent Film Festival, which will take place in Montreal on February 16, 2019, has selected eight documentary films, including Cuba, Libre?, to compete for its “Best Documentary” award, a separate category from “Best Canadian Documentary” which includes eight additional nominated films from that country.

This marks the 34th time that Cuba, Libre? has been made an “Official Selection” by a film festival or film award competition.

CIFF is one of the “Top 100 Best Reviewed Festivals” on FilmFreeway, one of two online services used by film festivals to solicit submissions by filmmakers.

 

For the thirty-third time since its January, 2016 release, Cuba, Libre? has become a film festival Official Selection.

It is also the seventh time the film has received a “Best Documentary” nomination.

The “Docs Without Borders Film Festival” has just named Cuba, Libre? as winner of its “Award of Exceptional Merit” in the festival’s “Travel, Culture, and Arts” category.

It marks the 14th time since its January, 2016 release that the film has received an award from a film festival or award competition.

Cuba, Libre? has just been named a Semi-Finalist in the New York International Films Infest Festival “Documentary Feature Film” category. Winners should be announced by the end of October of 2018.

30+1=31. With two more that were announced this weekend, that makes 31 times that Cuba, Libre? has been an Official Selection of a film festival or film award competition.

Cuba, Libre? has just been nominated for a “Best Documentary” award for the sixth time.

Four days ago the film won “Best Documentary” for the fourth time when it was given that award by the Mindfield Film Festival in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

For the 29th time since its release in January of 2016 Cuba, Libre? has become an Official Selection of a film festival or award competition.

Cuba, Libre? is in the hunt for awards from these additional four film festivals that will take place between Fall 2018 and Spring 2019.
