“Cuba, Libre?” will screen at Studio46 in Novato, California on May 6th to raise funds for restoration of the historic Novato Theater.

“Cuba, Libre?” first aired on MarinTV in January 2016, and on KCAT in January 2017, has now been made available for broadcast on other public access TV stations across the U.S. via PegMedia.org.

PegMedia.org is a media transfer site for PEG (Public, Education, Government) community television stations and producers of media for these stations. It provides an easy way for producers to make their programming known and available to many stations simultaneously and, at the same time, to give stations a wide variety of programming from which to choose.

Cuba, Libre? will air on KCAT TV (Comcast Channel 15) in Los Gatos and Monte Sereno, California, in the South Bay part of the greater San Francisco Bay Area, at 7:00 p.m. on both Monday, January 9th and Friday, January 13th.

The documentary film first aired on MarinTV in January of 2016, and on that station again last month.

Fidel Castro has died.

What was Cuba like as a tourist destination before he came to power in 1959, and over three decades later after his ally, the Soviet Union, collapsed in 1991?

Cuba, Libre?, which provides a portrait of the Cuban leader and look into his country from the early decades of the 20th century until the present day, lives on.

It will be shown at 7:00 p.m. on December 5, 2016 at the Left Coast Writers salon meeting at Book Passage Bookstore & Cafe in Corte Madera, California.

Cuba, Libre? has received an “Honorable Mention” from the SaMo Indie Fest film festival which will take place in November of 2016 in Santa Monica, California.

A short clip from the film has been submitted for inclusion in a compilation of “Honorable Mention” clips from films considered for this year’s festival.

Just back from his first visit to Cuba, last Sunday podcaster Weston Moody interviewed Cuba, Libre? Director, Dick Jordan, for his show, “The Locales,” which hosts “conversations with guests from various countries “talking about the places to go, what to do, issues these places face and how to fit in.”

In the previous episode, Moody spoke with Cuba travel expert, Christopher P. Baker, one of five travel writers whose interviews appear in “Voices of The Present,”  the second half of Cuba, Libre?

A large, enthusiastic crowd showed up at last night’s screening of  Cuba, Libre? in the Koret Auditorium of the Main Branch of the San Francisco Public Library.

Jordan joined the non-profit Media Center in 2012. Including his feature-length documentary, Cuba, Libre?, and its trailer, he has produced twenty-one shows for the station since 2013. Many of those shows have aired on other public access television stations across the U.S.
